On the last day of the teacher walkout, one phrase was heard over and over again – “Remember in November.”

The Oklahoma Education Association says 16 current or former educators won seats Tuesday night in the State Senate or the House.

Group holds forum on State Question 801 Wednesday. 

Education advocates are celebrating after some of their favored candidates won and some of the candidates they targeted lost.

Governor Mary Fallin said a state question will be on the November ballot to allow school districts to use property tax funds - now used primarily for building - for operational costs like teacher pay. 

The Oklahoma Education Association counts 71 out of 115 education candidates still in the running after the primary.  Some education advocacy groups believe the next legislature will be more friendly to their cause.

A petition is circulating online, calling for the impeachment of the president and vice president of the Oklahoma Education Association. The post claims OEA President Alicia Priest and Vice President Katherine Bishop failed to perform duties required as officers of the organization.

Even though the Oklahoma Education Association ended the school shutdown last week, many teachers say they're not done fighting. 

Union Public Schools announced it's plan to make up time lost during the teacher walkout.
